Luzer Electronics is a full service electronics design , development and prototyping , and consulting business dedicated to serving all customers large and small -, businesses, and hobbyists.

is support and modification/updating for obsolete (retro) micro controller based
electronic equipment.
My
credentials…
Along with a Masters Degree in
Electrical Engineering, I hold a Masters degree in Systems Engineering. This
allows me to provide comprehensive product life cycle design concepts and cost
analyses.
Some of the products and services we have provided are…
Copied an
obsolete specialized memory circuit for a large garment manufacturer that
allowed them to continue to use an older garment cutting machine.
Designed and
built a special PAL programmer that allowed another firm to provide obsolete
(but contractually required) devices in fulfillment of a government
contract .
Reverse
engineered an unsupported add-on RS232/422 adapter for an obsolete computer
monitor, designed a printed circuit board, and provided and tested finished
circuit boards in quantity. All engineering data was provided.
Programming with
Data I/O Unisite...the best programmer for old device algorithms.
Experience with
multiple embedded system platforms like the 386EX, VME, and development tools
such as Wind River Tornado.
Development,
Design, Build and Maintenance for Optical Ratiometers.
Industrial

Consulting Services Rate:
$60.00/hour
Typical services in this category include proposal development for large scale projects (rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates free), feasibility studies, electrical design concept development, product searches and recommendations, etc. Anticipated changes in production rates or new production requirements calling for process upgrades. The development of conceptual solutions would fall in this category, for example.
Method of Billing
10% down based on ROM estimate, monthly billings with interim reports. Final billing with final report
Design Services Rate: $55.00/hour.
Typical services in this category would be detailed design and documentation of a project concept- the documentation provided in sufficient detail to build a prototype end item, software/firmware development, etc. This may be complete project design from block diagram to working prototype, or partial design such as designing a circuit board layout from a schematic. System architecting, design, and beginning to end development.
Method of Billing
Fixed price contracts require 10% down, 65% midpoint through the contract, and 25% with delivery of final documentation package. Time and material contracts require 10% down with monthly billings and interim reports. Final billing with delivery of final documentation package. Projects of 1 month duration or less will require 75% down and 25% upon completion.
Prototyping Service Rate: $50.00/hour
This type service includes hardware development from detailed design documentation, hardware testing and/or evaluation, correspondence and coordination of specifications or requirements, E(E)PROM programming, etc. This category would also apply to modifications or upgrades to existing hardware, or even building a project from a hobby magazine. No project is too small!.
Method of Billing
Fixed priced contracts require 25% down, 60% midpoint through the contract, and 15% with final delivery of hardware and documentation package. Time and material contracts require 25% down , and monthly billings with interim progress reports. Final billing with delivery of final prototype hardware and documentation package. Projects less than 1 month in duration will require 75% down with 25% upon completion.
Guarantee
All work completed in accordance with documented and agreed upon specification. In most cases a letter of agreement signed by both parties will serve as a contract. Industrial standards and practices are employed where possible.
